Amir A'lam Hospital Complex is one of the oldest educational hospitals in Tehran, established in 1918 by the late Dr. Amir A'lam in order to create a maternity ward and train nurses and midwives. Amir A'lam Hospital Complex is one of the oldest educational hospitals in Tehran, established in 1918 by the late Dr. Amir A'lam in order to create a maternity ward and train nurses and midwives. This hospital, which was called Nasvan Hospital, was one of the institutions affiliated with the whole country and then the Ministry of Health until 1940. In 1943, the women's hospital department and clinic of this hospital were moved to the current location of the women's hospital located on Enghelab Street, and the ear, nose and throat, ophthalmology, pediatrics and dentistry departments were established in its place. A few months later, in 1944, it was named "Amir A'lam Hospital Complex" with the approval of the university council and in honor of the valuable health and cultural services of its founder. The hospital was a function of the Ministry of Health until 1940, when it was transferred to the Faculty of Medicine and was named the Women's Hospital. The Women's Hospital was moved to another location three years later and ophthalmology and ear, nose, and throat departments were established in its place. A few months later, in 1944, with the approval of the University Council, it was renamed the Amiralam Hospital Complex in honor of the founder's cultural health services.
