About Shohadaye Tajrish Hospital

Tajrish Martyrs Hospital officially began its activities in 1961 with the construction of a three-story building adjacent to Tajrish Square. By acquiring surrounding lands and adding new buildings until 1968, the hospital expanded. After the Islamic Revolution of Iran between 1992 and 1997, the hospital became the first and largest medical, educational, and therapeutic center in the north of Tehran, with the increase in the hospital's infrastructure to 65,000 square meters. Continuing the development of the hospital complex, the Ghadir building was opened in 1963, with 22 departments and 821 active beds, to provide patients with modern specialized and subspecialized medical services while educating and training students. This hospital initially began its activities as a clinic and vaccination center. The official establishment of the hospital began with the construction of a 3-story building in 1961. Additional clinics and physician pavilions were opened in 1968, followed by an 8-story main ward building in 1969. For further expansion, adjacent residential buildings on Darband and Hamid streets were acquired in 1972 and 1973. The building, which was established in 1974-1975, also served as a practical nursing college. Construction of the oncology and radiotherapy building began in 1992 with significant contributions from the Supreme Leader and was inaugurated in 1997 with the support of the then President.
